Case study 02

Kerala Lottery Results Hub

An independent platform that turns official lottery result PDFs into searchable, mobile-friendly ticket checks, prize tables and historical archives.

Kerala Lottery Results Hub ticket verification website

Challenge

Official Kerala State Lottery results are accurate, but PDF publications are difficult to search on a phone and inconvenient when checking older tickets. The platform also needed to serve a large archive without letting crawlers or scrapers create excessive database usage.

Approach

We designed the experience around quick verification, complete prize tables and clear source context. A Python pipeline running through Termux monitors official sources, validates each draw and sends structured data through an authenticated ingestion API.

Solution

A Next.js and TypeScript platform on Cloudflare Workers, with D1 storage, indexed archive queries and route-specific edge caching that keeps current and historical result pages fast and economical to serve.

From official PDF to searchable result

When a new result is published, the pipeline downloads the official PDF, extracts and validates the draw details, prize tiers and winning numbers, then updates the website through an authenticated API. Only the affected cached pages are cleared, so verified results become available quickly without disturbing the wider archive.

Kerala Lottery Results Hub is an independent information service and is not affiliated with the Government of Kerala or the Directorate of Kerala State Lotteries.

What was built

  • Ticket verification, complete prize tables and searchable results from 2017 onwards
  • Python and Termux ingestion pipeline for sources that restrict cloud datacenter requests
  • Cloudflare D1 queries with indexed lookups, bounded API parameters and efficient pagination
  • Route-specific edge caching for provisional, current and permanent historical content
  • Multilingual accessibility, canonical URLs, schema, sitemaps, GA4 and Search Console

Automation built around verification

AI-assisted development supported research, code review, test design and content workflows. Published lottery data follows a deterministic, source-led pipeline with explicit validation, authenticated ingestion and selective cache invalidation, so result accuracy never depends on a generative guess.
